The two forces at work in the world:

Integrative/constructive efforts:

- A panel held at the United Nations on topic of 'Rethinking Prosperity' (read about it here)
- Italy gets its first woman priest

Disintegrative/chaotic:

- Civil unrest in Greece (recent violent demonstrations)
- Kindergarten stabbings in China (7 killed, 20 wounded)
- Political violence in Thailand
- Oil still gushing into the Gulf of Mexico from an underwater oil well
- Violence in Iraq - scores killed in terrorist attacks
- A new food crisis is brewing (due to failed crops in many parts, followed by price increases)

Dictum:

There are spiritual principles, or what some call human values, by which solutions can be found for every social problem... Leaders of governments and all in authority would be well served in their efforts to solve problems if they would first seek to identify the principles involved and then be guided by them.
